Our dear wife, mother, sister and friend, Kathleen Kathie (Stepman) Kummer, 70, of Great Falls, died of natural causes at a local hospital on December 16, 2012.Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday, December 21, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Great Falls.Inurnment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.She was born November 5, 1942, in Great Falls to Rose and Albert Step Stepman.She attended Great Falls Central High and graduated from Great Falls High School in 1960.She married Ray Kummer on November 5, 1960.They have 2 daughters, Krystal and April, and a son, Rich.Kathie was a switchboard operator for Mountain Bell, Columbus Hospital and First National Bank, where she worked her way up to branch manager for US Bank, from which she retired in 2001.Still, she kept so busy she was often heard saying she didnt know how she ever had time to work.She was Past President of the Eagles Auxiliary.She enjoyed hanging with her grandkids, cooking, baking, bowling, flower gardening, crocheting with the Belt Sewing Club and was an avid Scrabble player.For the past several years, Kathie and Ray enjoyed their time as snowbirds, traveling to Quartzsite, Lake Mead and other points south.Above all, Kathie had countless friendships, which she cherished.Kathie is survived by her husband, Ray; daughters, Krystal (Rick) Hotaling of Butte, April Anderson (Jay Johnston) of Great Falls; son, Rich (Beth) Kummer of Point Pleasant, NJ; sisters, Connie (Tom) Winjum of Great Falls, Jackie Kegel of Salt Lake City, UT; brother, Gary (Denise) Stepman of Ulm.She has 8 grandkids, Sarah, Aric, William, Drew, Kylie, Alison, Skyler and Morgan.She was preceded in death by her father, mother and sister, Jennifer Sorenson.Kathie is greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
