Kathleen Jorgenson

Kathleen Ann Bushell Jorgenson, 70, passed away from natural causes on November 29, 2013 at Benefis Health Center.A vigil service will be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 7:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Her funeral liturgy will also be at the church on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10:00 until 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Kathleen was born April 1, 1943 in Los Angeles, California to Carl William & Sarah Sterud. After her parents divorced, her family moved to Montana and her mother married Darle Hemmy who adopted Kathleen when she was seven. Because Darle was a teacher and school administrator, Kathleen attended schools all over Montana including Great Falls, Virginia City, and Noxon, MT where she graduated in 1961. Shortly thereafter she married B. Frank Bushell and from that union daughters Suzanna and Babette were born. The family eventually moved to Great Falls and lived there until 1970 when she & Frank divorced. Kathleen then moved to Billings, MT and completed beauty & barber schools and worked in the cosmetology and retail industries until she completed her bachelors degree at Eastern Montana College Billings in 1989. She married Wayne Jorgenson at Miles City, MT in 1983 and they later divorced. Kathleen then moved back to Great Falls to be closer to her grandchildren and then to Butte, MT in 2000. During that time, she returned to her favorite Virginia City to work during a summer and also at Yellowstone Park where she developed a love for moose.Kathleen eventually moved to New Town, ND in 2009 where she lived until October 2013 when she moved to Cascade, MT to be closer to family. Along with moose, Kathleen was a lover of all animals, especially cats and had a special place in her heart for every cat in her life. She also was an avid football fan faithfully following her favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys since the 1960s. She also loved the UM Grizzlies and enjoyed attending and watching games with her daughter. Kathleen was a devout Catholic attending services weekly and sometimes more often for good luck.Kathleen is survived by her daughter, Suzanna Bushell (Rick Honrud) of Missoula, MT; her sister Georgia Brensdal (Ken) of Helena; her brother, Patrick Hemmy of Rolla, ND; her father, Darle Hemmy(Ginny) of Billings; grandsons Wesley & Dustin Bushell of Missoula and Zachary Newman of Pompano Beach, FL; special aunt, Catherine Henning of Choteau; cousin, Mike Henning of Fairfield; lifelong friend, Lenita Kingsbury of Butte; along with several nephews, nieces, and cousins.She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Babette Bushell; mother Sarah Hemmy; and sister Darlene Hemmy.Memorials may be sent to the Great Falls Animal Shelter, 1010 25th Ave NE, Great Falls, MT 59404.
