Katherine "Kathy" Dane

Katherine Marie Dane, 64, of Great Falls, passed away unexpectedly at her home on October 31st, 2013. A funeral liturgy will be held at 3:30 pm on Thursday, November 7th, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Kathy was born on October 7th, 1949 in Rolette, North Dakota. Kathy married the love of her life, C JDane, in Choteau, MT on June 10, 1967. Kathy worked for many years at K-Mart before starting her career as a nail technician. She enjoyed her Clientele, as she was a great friend and confidant to the ladies she worked on and with. Kathy cared for her clients and many of them confided that she was more of a mentor and therapist than just someone gifted in nail design. Kathy retired two years ago and began her favorite hobby of taking care of her grandchildren. Kathy was always there to help the family and spent many days assisting her mother with her errands and daily needs. Kathy loved her pet birds and spent much of her time with her two favorite African Greys, Sparky and Buddy.Kathy and C J celebrated their 46th Anniversary in June and continued to live a life of love together.Known for her quick wit and great sense of humor Kathy and C J spent a wonderful life together. Kathy loved babies and children like no one else did or could and they loved her as we all did. Kathy was a wonderful cook and baker. All of the family couldnt wait to get home for the holidays and enjoy her culinary delights. Everyone agreed Kathy made the best brownies and buns EVER!! Kathy had a deep faith in God and she will celebrate eternal life with her Savior.Kathy is survived by C J and their two sons, Thomas Dane and Shawn (fianc Kim) Dane. She loved her family a great deal and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren Kyla, Casey and Karsen Dane, Tahnee Walters and great grandson Easton Heilman. Kathy is also survived by her mother, Evelyn M. Wilkie of Great Falls; brother Fred Wilkie of Great Falls; his daughters, Danielle (Nick) Haldeman and Ashley (Eric) Hendrickson; sister Paulette (Doug) Simmons of Great Falls and their daughter Courtney (Matt) Holmes; sister Suzanne (Tom) Johnston from Livermore, CO and their children Tyson (Abbey) Johnston, Bailey Johnston and Alexis Johnston; brother Andre Wilkie (Raelene Brennan) from Golden, CO and their children Caitlin, Brennan and Morgan. Kathy was survived by several great nieces and nephews who were all very close to her. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Vernon Wilkie and her sister, Carol Ann Wilkie.Kathy, we love you very much! We will miss you and we know you are at peace.
