June Blair

Myrtle June Blair, 86, of Great Falls, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2015 from natural causes at Missouri River Manor.A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 12:00 pm at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel with a reception to follow. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.June was born April 28, 1928 in her grandmothers bed on the farm in Portage, MT to Lola (Stepman) and Joe Canavan. She attended school in Portage and Chinook before graduating from Great Falls High. She graduated from the University of Montana in 1950 and did a year of graduate work in Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis.She worked a short time as a Social Worker before marrying Bill Blair on February 14, 1953 in Great Falls. They made their home in Missoula and June devoted her time to raising her two sons and supporting her husband in the family business where she was able to travel and meet so many good people that would become their life friends.June remained active with the Delta Gamma Sorority, Daughters of the Nile and University of Montana. She enjoyed being a Griz fan, playing the piano, playing bridge, golfing, and her time living up Lolo Creek with the horses nearby, but favorite thing was her grandkids.June is survived by her son Bob Blair of Great Falls, his wife Sydney and children Ryan, Rob, and Amanda; daughter in law Ann Blair of Missoula, her husband Mike Milch and children William Blair and Isabella Milch.She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill and son Bill Blair.
