Joyce Joan Thomas Osborne, 75, of Great Falls, died peacefully Sunday, December 6, 2016 surrounded by her family.Per her request, no services are being planned. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Joyce was born February 29, 1940 in Salem, Illinois. Being a leap year baby was very special to Joyce and she liked to joke with her grandchildren that she was younger than them. She would have had her 19th birthday in 2016.She married Allan Osborne August 5, 1955 in Decatur, Indiana. They celebrated their 60th anniversary with family this summer. They had four children, Brenda Sue Walker, Rhonda Jo Gage, Michael David, and Jeffery Allan.Joyce was a nurses aide for many years, assisting people with home health care needs. She loved crocheting, and over the years she gave dozens of afghans, scarves, and potholders to family and friends. She baked and decorated elaborate cakes for many years.She was devoted to her family and loved the holidays for the excuse to make candy and cookies to send to her loved ones.Joyce was active in her church and community. She joined Myrtle Rebekah Lodge #20 on October 24, 1985. She held several offices before becoming Noble Grand. She had contributed to lodge fundraisers with her baked and handmade goods.She is survived by her husband, Al of Great Falls; daughter Rhonda of Great Falls; sons Mike (Diana) of Everett, WA and Jeff of Great Falls; seven grandchildren; and many nieces; nephews; and special friends.Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Bacel and Hazel (Sill) Thomas; brother Darrell; and daughter Brenda Walker.
