Josephine Marie (Watson) Moss, 88, a longtime resident of Sun River, MT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Visitation will be Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sun River Valley Ward followed by the funeral service at 12:00 noon also at the Sun River Valley Ward, US Hwy 89, Sun River, MT. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Josephine was born to Homer and Mabel Watson in Wallace, Idaho on October 13, 1929. She was the loving wife to Thaine V. Moss with whom she shared almost 72 years of marriage. Josephine was a devoted and beloved mother. She was blessed with six children, Marilyn Marie, Daniel Verdel (Janet), David Von, Paul Robert (Dena), Brian Ed (Sandy) and Nathan Linn (Melodie). She loved being grandmother to 19 beautiful grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren. She was an active member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the Sun River Valley Ward, she served as Relief Society President and primary and Sunday school teacher. In the Great Falls Stake, she served as Stake Young Women’s President and Primary Counselor. As the Ward quilt chairman in the Relief Society, she organized the quilting of receiving blankets, and provided diapers and baby packs for the Great Falls Receiving Home. She also donated her hand sewn quilts to the MS Foundation, Daughters of the Nile and the Benefis Breast Cancer Center. Josephine loved to spend time with family, especially during the holidays. She loved to bake and can vegetables from her garden. In addition to quilting, gardening was one of her favorite past times. She was known for her sense of humor and playfulness. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. Josephine is survived by her husband; six children; 19 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Homer, Johnny, and Charles; and two sisters, Margaret and a baby sister.
