John Swart

John Earl Swart, age 62, passed away at Benefis Hospital August 29, 2013 at 11:15pm.John was born in El Paso, TX on March 12, 1951 to Earl and Irene Swart.In 1952, they moved to Power, MT; then later moved to Fort Shaw, MT in 1958.John graduated from Simms High School in 1971 and entered the Navy.He was honorably discharged in 1972.On May 27, 1972 John married Karla K. Dubois.They raised two children, Tina and Shawn, in Great Falls, MT.John worked for Eddys Bakery for 20 years during high school and following his time in the service until the closure of the bakery.John worked at Columbus Hospital in 1988 and retired from Benefis Hospital in 2005 due to poor health.John loved fishing, hunting and camping, taking a nap whenever he could, finding Johnnie Gold everywhere he looked, and cracking jokes. John always loved to share and enjoy laughter with people.He is survived by his wife Karla (of Great Falls, MT), daughter Tina Edmondson (Dan) of Burnsville, MN and son Shawn (Sherilyn) of Great Falls, MT. He also is survived by brothers Terry (Shelly) of Bozeman, MT, Jim (Patty) Brownsville, WA, Dennis (Lucy) of Arizona. Our extended family includes Trent, Cody, Jimmy, and Alisa. He was preceded in death by sister Lynn, father Earl Swart, parents Irene and Bill Massmann and sister-in-law Pam Swart. John has been cremated and in lieu of a funeral, the family is hosting a celebration of life which is being held at Marys Midway: 372Vaughn S Frontage Rd on Saturday, September 7, 2013 between 12-3pm.
