John David "Jay" Powers

John David “Jay” Powers passed away on June 14, 2023, at home with his family by his side.

Jay was born on September 10, 1947, in Parkersburg, WV to Madeline and Herb Ludick. He graduated from Meadowbrook High School in 1965 in Byesville, OH. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1966 and was honorably discharged as Staff Sergeant from Malmstrom Air Force Base in 1970.
Jay worked for A-1 Moving Company and was then hired as a 2nd Engineer with maintenance at CMR High School where he retired. Jay had a passion for Nascar and football. He was a dedicated Browns fan. He also enjoyed camping and boating with his family and friends. He enjoyed fine dining and always looked forward to going out to lunch with all of his CMR lady friends. He will be greatly missed.

Jay is survived by his wife, Kay Powers, of Great Falls; daughter, Heather (Bob) Tabacco of Black Eagle; son, Kevin Powers of Glendale, AZ; three grandchildren, Tayler Crowe, Tyson Tabacco, and Teagan Tabacco; and childhood friend, Dick Singleton of Senecaville, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents.
