Joanne J. Anderson

Joanne J. Anderson, 86, of Great Falls, Montana, passed away on July 28, 2017.Burial will be at a later date in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Schnider Funeral Home of Great Falls, Montana, is handling the arrangements.Joanne was born on July 28, 1931, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Verne H Sr. and Elizabeth (Bainbridge) Jennings. She graduated from Washington High School in 1948 and attended the University of South Dakota, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business.She met her husband-to-be, Wavrin (Andy) Anderson while at the University, and they were married in 1952 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Their daughter, Nancy, was born in 1954 and their son, Curtis, followed in 1955. They raised their family in Sioux Falls where Joanne was a stay-at-home mother until Andy was transferred to Billings, Montana in 1975 with the Sherwin-Williams Company and in 1978 to Great Falls, Montana. Joanne was a legal secretary for Church Harris Johnson & Williams PC from 1978 until she retired in 1992.Joanne was a member of the Great Falls First Congregational United Church of Christ.She is survived by her two children, Nancy (Steve) Kjellsen of Watertown, South Dakota, and Curtis (Lissa) Anderson of Danville, California, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Great Falls First Congregational United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 2900 9th Avenue South, Great Falls, MT 59405 or a charity of the donors choice.
