Joann Richards

On Thursday, August 31, 2023, Joann Richards, sister, loving wife, mother of four and grandmother of eight passed away at the age of 64.

Joann had a passion for living and was known for her free spirit, loyalty, her love for life and her smile. She was admired not only by family and friends but everyone she met. On January 3, 2014, she married Gina Richards and since that day they conquered love and life, with their families and puppies being their top priorities. Joann’s commitment to being a major influence in her grandchildren’s lives and her love for them was something to admire. They were the light in her eyes.

Joann was also a respected AKC German Shepherd and Dachshund breeder, judge, dog handler and groomer.

Joann was born on July 13, 1959, in Parry Sound, Ontario to Merle and Roma Bailey. She is survived by her wife, Gina Richards; siblings, Gerald Bailey, Terry (Debbie) Bailey, Gwen (Ken) Lawrence; children, Jeremy Ryan (Crystal, Anna, and Nolan), Joey (Hazel) Ryan, Christopher Corbin (Erin, Olive, and Hazel), and Jennifer Bolinger (Ian, Reid, Bennett, Violet, and Letty); many nieces; nephews; and friends that are family.
