Joan Paredes

Joan Paredes, 71, of Great Falls, passed away on Friday, January 31, 2014.She was born in Salt Lake City on June 19, 1942 to parents Herbert and Barbara (Green) Cowles. She graduated and went on to receive a Masters Degree in Anthropology from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She was married to Jaime Paredes.Joan was active in the artist community in Great Falls and loved the Studio 706 Artist Guild. She was loved by friends and family and is very much missed by everyone whose lives she touched.She was involved with the Great Falls Pet Posse, fostering both dogs and cats, as well as assisting with puppy training classes through the Great Falls Dog Training Club. She was also active in volunteering time and artwork to dog rescue efforts; and she assisted at horseback riding instruction at Eagle Mount.Joan is survived by her son, James; granddaughter Jasmine; and grandson Ben.A memorialservice will be held later this year in Michigan.
