Jerry G. Greyn, 82, of Great Falls, died of natural causes on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at a local hospital surrounded by his family.Jerry G. Greyn was born in Conrad, Montana on August 12, 1934 to Cornielus and Annette (Elings) Greyn. He attended grade school at Pioneer School in Conrad and attended Conrad High School. He worked for his uncle plastering several new homes in Conrad and surrounding areas. He worked for Elmer Munson building houses and doing concrete finishing at several farmers shops and basements. He worked for PJ Anderson & Company, then at the Chevrolet dealership in Conrad before moving to Great Falls in July 1961. In Great Falls he worked for Jack Golberg doing mechanic work.On October 13, 1955, he married the love of his life, Gladys Klette. From this union they had three daughters, Jerralyn, Janice and Tylene. Jerry loved his family dearly and told Gladys that he loved her and told her she was beautiful every day. He played the guitar and sang You Are My Sunshine to his girls. Jerry had a special relationship with his girls and was enhanced when his grandchildren and great grandchildren entered his life. He cherished the time that he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and had a special relationship with each one of them. Jerry also had a great relationship with his extended family. You would always see Jerry and Gladys at family reunions and Jerry always played a part in making the reunions happen.In 1966, Jerry moved this family to Ulm, Montana. He owned and operated Jerrys Repair until he retired in 1999. Jerry, along with his family enjoyed and spent many summers camping and waterskiing. In the winters you would find them in the mountains snowmobiling. Through these hobbies many lifelong friendships were made. Being a mechanic, Jerry found his way in to the local stock car racing scene. Jerry partnered up with Dave Freeman and the 11x Racing Team and became his crew chief. People said it would never last, but Jerry and Dave made it work. Jerry and Dave became lifelong friends and they saw each other as family. In 1994, Jerry was given the honor of Pit Crewman of the Year.They started traveling to Arizona for a few weeks at a time in 2000. When Gladys retired they started going to Arizona for the winter. They bought a place in Casa Grande, where they lived for a few years and would spend the summers back in Montana. This is where he rekindled his love for music and playing guitar. He was a member of the Desert Country Musicians and had jam sessions every night of the week. Jerrys health issues were taking a toll on him and they moved back to Great Falls in 2012. Jerry is survived by his wife of 61 years Gladys Greyn, daughters Janice (Mark) Hoffman, Tylene (Rodd) Holman. Grandchildren Brandon (Wendy) Smith, Bethany (Dean) Gabriel, Felicia Holman, Melissa Hoffman, Tabitha Schmidt, Katerina Holman, Jeramiah Holman. Great Grandchildren Cheyenne Seely, Stevien Smith, Kaelyn Shuba, Matthew Wade.He is preceded in death by his parents, Neil & Annette Greyn, brothers Keith & Eugene, daughter Jerralyn and grandson Derek.
