Jerald Jerry Clarence Scarbro of Great Falls, died Sunday, July 9, 2017 in Coeur DAlene, Idaho under the care of Hospice.Jerry was born to Jack and Betty Lou (Eberlein) Scarbro on October 10, 1953 in Tonasket, Washington. The family moved to Great Falls in 1963, where Jerry became active in Boy Scouts, becoming the youngest Eagle Scout at that time at age 13. He also loved baseball and was chosen to the All Star team in 1969. After graduating from CMR in 1971, he became a carpenter and moved around to follow work to Olympia, Washington to Shreveport, Louisiana and back to Great Falls.In 1994, Jerry was in a car accident which confined him to a wheelchair, but he did not let that obstacle keep him from pursuing his love of hunting and fishing. Jerry also had a love for gardening and grew tomato plants far taller than any of his grandchildren. Most weekends you would find Jerry in the garage drinking a Busch Light, cooking hotdogs on the woodstove and watching multiple football games at once.Jerry is survived by his children and grandchildren Jay (Dina) Scarbro and their two boys, Aiden (3) and Caleb (9 months), Kirsten (Terry) Wegner and their girls, Lily (14) and Kaylin (9); brothers Tom (Bonnie) Scarbro of Kihei, Maui, Hawaii and Bob (Terri) Scarbro of Great Falls; sister Barbara (Mike) Lace of Great Falls; and many nieces and nephews.Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Scarbro.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1410 15th St. S., followed by burial of ashes at Highland Cemetery.
