Jerald Jerry Lee Hinzman, 67, of Great Falls, a retired respiratory therapist and US Air Force and Army National Guard veteran, died of lung cancer on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at his home.Per his wishes, no services will be held.A private family celebration will be held at his favorite camping spot.Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Jerry was born on September 11, 1945 in Wenatchee, Washington to Reuben and Dorothy Mary (Holdstock) Hinzman.He graduated from high school in Everett, WA.He then served 4years in the U. S. Air Force, including three tours of duty in Vietnam as a jet engine mechanic.He married Darlean Cooper in Marinette, Wisconsin in 1966 and they later divorced.Jerry then married Diane Schoby in Fairmont, Minnesota in 1971.He spent many years driving truck, both locally and over the road.He retired in 2004, after 23 years at Benefis spending most of that time as a respiratory therapist.Jerrys hobbies included reading, camping, traveling to the mountains and spending time with his family.He was great at tinkering around the house.Jerry is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane Hinzman of Great Falls; daughters Jamie (Cliff) Leonard and Jenny (Cory) Eli all of Great Falls; son Stacey (Julie) Hinzman of Marinette, WI; brother Frank C. (Kathleen) Smith of Fredrick, MD; and nine grandchildren, Shayna, Kessler, and Krysta Leonard all of Great Falls and Joe, Megan, and Mary Eli all of Vaughn, and Amanda, Erika and Megan Hinzman all of Marinette, WI.Memorials in Jerrys name may be made to Peace Hospice, 1101 26th Str.
