Jeanne (Myers) Lane passed away May 6, 2016 at Benefis Hospital in Great Falls due to natural causes. She was 87 and lived a full life and wants all to know that I did the best I could.Jeanne was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, as well as a cherished teacher, and treasured friend to many. She was born 1928 in New Rockford, North Dakota to parents John and Lillian Hallesy, now both deceased. After being raised in Plentywood, Montana, Jeanne attended and graduated the College of Great Falls where she met and married Leo Myers. She made her home first in Great Falls before taking teaching positions in Peerless, Outlook, and Cascade, Montana. Jeanne also briefly taught English as a second language in Merced, California before returning to Great Falls to create and manage Myers Piano studio before retiring. As a composer, music teacher, and performer, Jeanne is best known for her musical operetta score to The Little Match Girl and provided piano lessons to many students while also providing accompaniments and performances to many. Jeanne was last married to William Lane, now deceased.Jeanne is survived by nine children, John, Mike, Cathy, Terry, Bob, Tim, Tom, Jim, and Ed Myers with her former husband, Dr. Leo Myers, deceased; nine grandchildren, Ben, Mandy, Ryan, Erin, Kelly, Patrick, Nick, Daniel, and Logan; six great grandchildren, Leo, Deighton, Easton, Ryder, Jake, and Samuel; and siblings Irene Bottomly, Mary Nicholson, and Robert Hallesy.A rosary will be at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. Her funeral memorial will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.While those wishing to send flowers may do so and is appreciated, the family would request instead that consideration be given to providing a gift to Shriners Hospital for Children (shrinershospitalsforchildren.org) so that no child be left untreated. As Jeanne had remarked, We never would have been able to make it without their help.
