Jean Swanson

Jeanne Therese (Czech) Swanson, 86, of Great Falls, a homemaker, died at a local care facility on Friday, January 13, 2012 of natural causes.A Vigil Service will be held at St. Josephs Catholic Chapel on Thursday, January 19, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.Funeral Liturgy is at St. Josephs Catholic Chapel on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Montana State Veterans Cemetery in Helena, Montana on Friday, January 20, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Jeanne was born August 21, 1925 to Stanley and Anna (Sombora) Czech in Judlova, Poland. The family immigrated to Canada on July 4, 1929. She and John K. Swanson married May 9, 1946 in Raymond, Alberta. Four children were born to this union, John, Jan, Jo Ann, and Joette.Jeanne was a member of Saint Josephs Parish. Jeanne was happiest surrounded by her family, friends and fellow parishioners. A Celebration of Life reception honoring Jean in October, 2011 welcomed over 135 well-wishers. Cherishing all life, Jeanne was a staunch supporter of the Pro-Life, anti-abortion movement. She has left a legacy of love for all who knew her. Knowing Mom is in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ comforts the family.Jeanne is survived by her daughters Jo Ann Swanson of Great Falls, Joette(Blaine)Warburton of Chinook, MT; sons John L. (Linda) Swanson of Sun River, MT and Jan Swanson of Riverton, WY; sisters Anne Krowchuk of Saint Marys, Ontairo, Canada, Berniece Selander of Langley, British Columbia, Canada, Val Archibald of Lister, British Columbia, Canada; brothers John Check of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Steve Czech of Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada, Joe Czech of Magrath, Alberta, Canada; eight grandsons, eight granddaughters, 18 great-grandsons and 11 great-granddaughters..She was preceded in death by her husband, John, September 22, 2005; her parents; two brothers; three sisters (two as infants); and two infant great-grandchildren, Cole and Taya.Memorials may be sent in Jeannes name to Priests for Life, PO Box 141172, Staten Island, NY 10314 or Montana Pro-Life Coalition, PO Box 2758, Bigfork, Montana, 59911, or to a charity of your choice.
