Jean F. Du Paul passed away the morning of November 8, 2024. She achieved her goal by celebrating her 100th birthday with family on September 6, 2024. A Vigil will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. The Mass will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will take place in Williston, ND.
Jean was born in Williston to Grace and Hubbie Sheppard. She graduated from Williston High School and Minot Teacher’s College. Jean taught at a prairie school outside Williston and worked in a meat packing plant in Tacoma, WA prior to marrying Walter L. Du Paul on April 24, 1946. She was a devoted wife and mother, raising nine children. She will be fondly remembered for her fabulous caramel pies and chocolate chip cookies which were family favorites. She also enjoyed needle work, including embroidery and crocheting, and listening to music, especially Daniel O’Donnell.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Walt; her sons, Stephen and James; and her sisters, Francis Lee and Elsie Gathman. She is survived by her children, Loraine “Lori” Du Paul of Bremerton, WA, Cindy (Ross) Vogelsang of San Tan Valley, AZ, Philip (Karen) Du Paul of Black Eagle, MT, Loretta Wallace, Tom Du Paul, Patti Fifield, and Kathleen “Kitty” Parham all of Great Falls; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
