She graduated from St. Anthony High School and attended Northeastern Jr. College. She married Gary Vye in June 1972, and raised four daughters. They later divorced but remained friends. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She especially enjoyed decorating her house this time of year; along with the baking, cooking, and spending time with her family. Her talents included many things like canning, cross stitching, painting, ceramics, tri-chem and different kinds of crafts. Janice had excelled in sports and loved fishing and camping with her children. She enjoyed her TV programs and cooking shows. She looked forward to watching her football team the Steelers play. Of the many things she excelled at, cooking was her favorite. She was employed at various restaurants, with the last 32 years at Borries as the head cook. We will miss her laugh and her smile, so simple and true. She believed in her Catholic faith and believed in the power of prayers. But her prayers will not stop, as she has work to do.Janice is survived by her mother, Julitta of Sterling, CO; daughters Shana (Greg) Chapman of Great Falls, Sharon (Allan) Smith of NV, Shelley Shore of NE and Michelle Vye of Great Falls; sister Joanne; brothers Jim, Dennis, Jerry, Daniel and Donald; grandchildren Nicole, Patrick, Andrew, Autumn, Amber, Chris, Jessica, Taylor, Daniel and Troy; great-grandchildren Eden, Tyson and Victoria; and her dear friend, Maria. She was preceded in death by her father, Jimmie; brother Jack; and grandparents John and Catherine Hafeman.Memorials may be made to Boys Town, 14100 Crawford Str., Boys Town, NE 68010, Special Olympics, PO Box 3507, Great Falls, MT 59403, American Heart Assoc., Western State Affiliate, PO Box 742030, Los Angeles, CA 90074-2030, or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 409 13th Str.
