Janet Reed Rosten, 77, of Great Falls, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 of natural causes at Benefis Healthcare.Janet was born on July 14, 1937 in Bishop Stratford, England to Josiah and Violet Reed. She met the love of her life, Robert Rosten, in 1957, while he served in the US Air Force in England. They enjoyed 56 years of marriage, their military life taking them from England to California, Georgia and Montana. They loved Montana so much they returned after retirement.Janet devoted her life to her family and took great pride in her home, her flowers and her pets (and grandpets). She had great pride in her English heritage, loving her English collectibles, a good cup of tea and a good conversation.Janet is survived by her husband, Robert; sister Valerie Hughes of England; daughter Tina (Mike) Robb of Billings; son Steve (Kim) Rosten of Great Falls; grandchildren Brandon (Jodi) Rosten of South Dakota, Billy (Rochelle) Rosten of Great Falls, Nicole (Steve) Brunk of Great Falls, and Jason (Mikaela) Robb of Billings; and eight great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; brother Colin; and sister-in-law Kay Reed.The family is very grateful to Benefis North Tower 5th Floor dedicated nursing staff, Dr. Jairam and Dr. Parambi.A funeral service will be held Monday, September 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Janets name may be made to the Great Falls Animal Shelter, PO Box 3426, Great Falls, MT 59403.
