James Sanger

James Sanger, 88, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020. Cremation has taken place and as per his request, no service will take place. Jim was born in Great Falls to Ruth Nelson and Frank Sanger on September 5, 1932. After spending four years in the US Navy Seabees, he returned to Great Falls and began a career in carpentry, working on hundreds of homes in the area. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 1087. In later years, he enjoyed rides in the mountains, fishing, gardening, and yard work. Jim married Sandra “Sandy” Hilbig on April 7, 1961. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Sandy; sons, Mike (Maureene) and Dan; several nieces; nephews; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Frank; sisters, Dorothy Parr and Frances Cox; and grandson, AJ. Memorials may be made to Peace Hospice, Great Falls Rescue Mission, or donor’s choice.
