James Jim Harlan 83, of Great Falls, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at a local care facility.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Jim was born on March 25, 1933 in Palmyra, Missouri to Ralph and Ethel Harlan. He was the oldest of fourteen children. He attended schools in Missouri and went on to join the Air Force. He served during the Korean Conflict.After discharging from the military, Jim became a service technician at Sears and that lasted for forty two years. He married Bonnie Hickman, they later divorced. Jim then married Lorraine Kaste in 1976.Jim loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He enjoyed woodcarving and woodworking. He also loved to dance. Jims most cherished thing was his family.He is survived by his wife, Lorraine; children Shawn (Eric) Wilford, Terry (Anne) Harlan and Michael (Kathy) Harlan; stepchildren Rick Roadhouse, Gary Roadhouse, Patti Jones and Kathy Holum; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.Jim was preceded death by his parents, Ralph and Ethel Lee Harlan.
