James "Jerry" Amestoy

James Jerry Amestoy, 69, passed away on August 30, 2013 after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer.A memorial service will be held at the Augusta Community Church on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at 11:00 am with visitation on hour prior to service. Burial will follow at the Augusta Cemetery.Jerry was born September 2, 1943 in Glasgow, MT, the youngest of 11 kids to Louise and John Amestoy. Working on the family farm till it sold in the mid-60s, he then moved to Billings where he started his career in mechanics. He moved to Augusta, MT in 1982, where he continued his mechanic career owning and operating Jerrys Towing and Repair.Jerry met Shirley Hinkle in Billings in 1967 and they wed on July 19th, 1969. Jerry and Shirley had two children, Michael and Jennifer. His family was always a source of pride and joy and his first priority.Jerry volunteered at the fire dept., and was an active member of the Masons. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, hearty laugh and helping hand.Jerry is survived by his wife of 44 years Shirley, children Mike (Andrea), Jennifer (Joe), 6 grand-children (Samantha, Wyatt, Zach, Ryder, Tyzer and Kylie) who were the light of his life and numerous relatives.
