James A. Jendro

James A. Jendro, 59, of Great Falls, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020, after a short battle with cancer. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements and services are planned for a later date. James was born on September 11, 1960, to Myron and Pauline Jendro in Great Falls.After graduating from GFHS, James moved to California, where he married Maribel Martin.James and Maribel had one son together, James Michael Jendro, and raised Maribel’s older son, Mark Randolph, until their divorce. James worked aircraft maintenance throughout California, Oregon, and Washington before settling back in Great Falls in 2002.On August 23, 2003, James married Gretchen McArthur and they had a son together, Royce Jendro. James sold cars, drove relief routes for Hostess, and delivered Schwan’s until 2014 when he became a conductor for BNSF and later Amtrak.He loved to coach and spent many years coaching youth football, basketball, and baseball for his sons and watching his youngest son’s hockey games.James was an avid sports fan and diehard New York Yankees and Oakland (Vegas) Raiders.He loved to BBQ, ride Harleys, work around the house, watch sports, and entertain family and friends.James was so proud of his sons. James is survived by his wife, Gretchen Jendro of Great Falls; sons, James M. Jendro of Missoula, Royce Jendro of Great Falls, and step-son Mark Randolph of Idaho; half brothers and sisters,Gordon (Georgia) Jendro of Great Falls, Dean (Rhonda) Jendro of Phoenix, AZ, Terry (Shannon) Jendro of Great Falls, Linda (Clint) Pederson of Kalispell, Bonnie (Charles) Mekeal of Missoula, Paulette (Bill Turner) Munstedt of Spokane, WA, Mike (Amelia) Eller of Billings, and Paula (Melvin) Puzon of Silverdale, WA. James had so many friends and people special to him.He was truly grateful for those friendships.When MLB picks up this summer, James would love everyone to catch a Yankee game on TV and have a beer in his memory.
