James Humerick

James Robert Humerick, 26, of Great Falls, a recent returning Marine Corp veteran and Purple Heart recipient, died on Friday, April 6, 2012 as a result of a motor vehicle accident on West Central Avenue.A memorial service will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Burial of ashes with military honors will follow in Highland Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements. James was born July 6, 1985 in Anaheim, California and raised in Great Falls. He attended CM Russell High School. He then entered the Marine Corps, attending basic training; School of Infantry; Marine Operations and Urban Terrain; School of Mountainous Warfare Training. He served four combat tours through Iraq and Afghanistan, serving in Ramadi, Fallujah, Karma, Kandahar and Helman Province.James served with the 215; the ceremonial security platoon at MCRD; served with the 313; received Federal Law Enforcement License in Kanoehe Bay, Hawaii; received combat action ribbon with distinguished V in Fallujah; Navy Achievement Medal in Karma; Purple Heart recipient in Najaf, Iraq.James performed in the ceremonial colors platoon at MCRD for burials, retirements and the San Diego Chargers and Padres.James enjoyed diving, hiking, surfing, building, firearms, skydiving, snorkeling, camping, fishing, playing guitar, skiing, skiing, but most of all, loved being a dad.James is survived his son, Hadyn James Humerick of Kalispell, MT; by his mother, Kimberley Humerick of Great Falls; his father, Ray Humerick, Jr. of Dayton, OH; a sister, Ashley Dwyer of Raleigh, NC; a brother, Ray Humerick, III, of San Diego, CA; grandparents, James Kirk of Great Falls, Rea Kirk of Platteville, WI, Tessie Aaron of Las Vegas, NV, and Regina Humerick of Dayton, OH.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the trust fund for James son, Hadyn James Humerick, PO Box 7472, Kalispell, MT 59904.
