James Donald "Jim Eayrs

– James Donald “Jim” Eayrs, 81, of Great Falls, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. A funeral liturgy will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Jim was born on August 16, 1936 in Kalispell, MT to Donald and Caroline Eayrs. He attended Montana State College, and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.Jim served in the USAF as an Air Traffic Controller and continued his service as a civilian controller at Malmstrom AFB for 30 years. Jim was a Cub Master and Scout Master, and a long time member of the Y’s Men Service Club. He was a member of Holy Spirit parish. He loved fishing, camping, hunting, and fixing things around the house. He enjoyed computers and genealogy and traveling to 48 states in his RV. Jim married Beverly Ann Zundel on June 12, 1965 in Great Falls. They enjoyed 53 years together and spent their 40th Anniversary in Alaska and their 50th Anniversary in Hawaii where they renewed their vows. Jim is survived by his wife, Beverly of Great Falls; sons Allan (Evelyn) and grandsons Charlie and Johnny of Tigard, OR, Keith(Cici) and grandson Reece of Portland, OR,Bradley (Catherine) and grandchildren Caroline, Christina, and Andrew of Silver Spring, MD; niece Linda Hadley of Kalispell, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Marvin Eayrs. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jim’s name may be made to F.I.S.H or the Great Falls Genealogy Society.
