Jackson "Jack" Knox

Jackson Jack Knox, 81, of Great Falls, passed away at his home on September 25, 2013 surrounded by his wife and friends.A vigil service will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Jack was born in Urbana, Illinois on May 28, 1932. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a radar operations officer for 20 years, retiring in October 1975. He served in New Jersey, Wisconsin, Labrador, Newfoundland, Canada, New Jersey, Alaska, Oregon, Northern California, Alaska, and finally at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, where he retired.Upon retiring, Jack spent his time painting and helping friends and family.Jack belonged to Big Sky Cum Christo, and Sunnyside Optimist Club.Jack is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jackie; niece Shari Kemper-Robinson of CA; nephews Jack Anthony McPeak of NE, Mark Kemper of CA; sisters-in-law Alice Gilson of CA, Catherine (Robert) McPeak of NE, and Arlene Morgan of NJ; brother-in-law Charles (Dottie) Morgan of CO; cousins Juanita Iles and Kathy Welch both of IN; and many other nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Dilla and Clark D. Knox; brothers Brice Knox and Clark D. Knox; sisters Charlene Mitchell and Colleen Bobbie Robinson.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Holy Spirit Catholic Parish (Handicapped Parking Lot) 201 44th Str. So., Great Falls, MT 59405.
