Helmer A. Anderson, 90, of Great Falls, MT, passed away December 25, 2018. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Burial of his cremated remains will follow at Highland Cemetery. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Helmer was born on December 15, 1928 in Shelby, MT to Alfred and Annette Anderson. He married his wife of sixty-five years, Carol, on November 28, 1953. After his retirement at Industrial Towel, he continued to stay active by driving for Avis, Big Sky Bus Lines, and harvesting for Sheffels Farm. He enjoyed long walks and bike rides on the Rivers Edge Trail. He cherished every family gathering as well as years spent touring Montana campsites in their Minnie Winnie. His hobbies were comprised of fishing, tinkering in his garage, and any activity that included his grandkids. He is survived by his wife, Carol; five children Dale (Jill) Anderson of Bozeman, Renea (Steve) Green of Billings, Linda (Ashby) Miller of Bozeman, Nancy (Steve) Echelard of Boise, ID, and David (Taya) Anderson of Great Falls; as well as eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren; and sisters Alva McWilliams of California and Delores Widseth of Great Falls, MT. Helmer was preceded in death by his parents; brother Harvey; along with his father and mother in-law.
