Helen Burns

Helen Burns, 92, of Great Falls, passed away at a local care facility on July 20, 2015.A funeral liturgy will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at St Anns Cathedral. Arrangements have been entrusted with Schnider Funeral Home.Helen was born October 2, 1922 in Great Falls, the daughter of Frank and Frances Ursich. Helen received her education at St. Thomas School, but as Helen would say, she was raised in a 60 room house. After graduating from St. Marys High School, she was employed as an operator for Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph. She later worked at the Tribune Print Shop, Montana Board of Crime Control and County Extension Service.Helen married Robert S. Burns at St. Anns Cathedral in 1951.Helen loved to walk, bowl, bicycle riding, playing poker and pinochle, but especially family gatherings.She is survived by daughters Sherrie (Rick) Farris and their son J.J. all of Edson, KS, Rose Marie (Robert G) Robertson and Mary Ann Aafedt both of Great Falls; nephew Larry (Maureen) Ursich of Dublin, Ireland; four nieces; two nephews; and numerous cousins.Helen was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Robert Burns.The family would like to thank Benefis Extended Care for their wonderful care of Helen, and her family and friends who visited her.Memorials in Helens name may be made to St. Anns Cathedral, 715 3rd Ave. N, Great Falls, MT 59401.
