Hazel L. (Bright) Havens, 74, of Fort Benton, a retired secretary, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 of liver cancer at a Fort Benton hospital.A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Hazel L. (Bright) Havens was born on July 28, 1938 in Great Falls to Frank and Pearl Bright.She was raised and educated in Great Falls.She was married on January 4, 1958 to the love of her life, Edward Havens.They shared 54 years, 9 months and 21 days together.She was a secretary to the Dean of Boys at Senior High School in Billings and a secretary to the principal at West Junior High School in Great Falls.Hazel loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.She also liked gardening, crosswords, dancing, shopping, baking cookies (especially at Christmas) traveling and sewing, along with other arts and crafts. Hazel is survived by her husband, Edward Havens of Fort Benton; daughter Jackie (Charlie) Webster of Havre; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Pearl Bright; her daughters, Lee Ann Brabeck and Teri Taylor; sister Arlie Keith, brother Lee Bright; step-mother Ruth Bright; and a step-brother Ronald Kick Farrell.Memorials in Hazels name can be made to the Choteau County Cancer Society of Fort Benton or Peace Hospice of Choteau County, 1315 Washington, Fort Benton, MT 59442.Condolences for the family may be posted online at www.schniderfuneralhome.com
