Harriet Hatley, 80, of Great Falls, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 from cancer.A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Schnider Funeral Home Hospitality Room. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.She was born Harriet McKay on September 29, 1933 in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, Canada. She attended school in New Waterford, after completing her vocational education in Glace Bay she joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where she was a Fighter Control Operator for the radar and communications division. In June of 1954 she married Robert Flood and they had three children and moved with the Canadian Air Force through Canada and the United States until 1973. She remarried in August of 1974 to James Dude Hatley. She became a real estate agent for Century 21 in 1987 together with her husband James for 11 years.Harriets favorite pastime was card games with her friends and family, as well as many travels to Texas and Canada.She is survived by her daughters Rene Rohrer of Great Falls and Laura Flood of Sylvan Lake, AB, CA; son Stephen Flood of Sylvan Lake, AB, CA; step sons Jim, Greg, and Jeff Hatley; brothers Jimmy McKay of NB and Henry McKay of Nova Scotia, CA; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her wonderful support group of friends.Harriet was preceded in death by her husband James Hatley, parents Henry and Minnie McKay; and sister Jean McGuigan.
