Harriet GG Marie (Dwyer) Eastman, 94, passed away Monday, February 13, 2017 at her home surrounded by love and family and the caring nurses and staff of Golden Eagles Plaza.A funeral liturgy will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with a reception and interment to follow. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Harriet was born on June 9, 1922 to Sylvester Dwyer and Martha Ann Underwood in McCone County, Montana. Her mother passed away when Harriet was 5 years old and she was sent to the St. Thomas Children's Home in Great Falls where she completed her school and eventually graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1940.Harriet married Fredrick Delbert Eastman in 1941, and they spent 44 years of marriage in Great Falls except for 2 years in California during WWII.Harriet worked at the Malmstrom Air Force Base Commissary, Western Drug, and finally at Lewis & Clark Elementary School, where she helped with her loving granddaughters Rachel (Curtis) Erpenbach and Robin Johnson. She also volunteered with the Pink Ladies at Columbus Hospital, Great Falls Central Mothers Club, and Ladies of Charity. She was an active lifelong member of the Catholic Church and rarely missed a service over her lifetime.Harriet enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting and babysitting her grandchildren and then her great-grandchildren.Harriet is survived by her four children, Glorine (Ronald) Delk, Fredrick (Rick) Eastman, Janet (Wayne) Rollo, Judy (Max) Gurganious; 13 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; brothers Paul, James, and Joseph; sisters Helen and Veronica; and son-in-law Max.
