Harold Harry Watkins, 56, of Great Falls, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2015 from cancer, after a five year battle.A celebration of life will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Harry was born July 4, 1958 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. He worked diligently to complete the merit badges required to become an Eagle Scout. He was active in his high school band, mastering the trombone, and also competing on the wresting team at Crete-Monee High School. After high school, Harry joined the Army and proudly served for 22 years. He had the honor of experiencing many great adventures and making numerous life-long friends before retiring with the rank of MSG. Following retirement, Harry worked with the 2010 Census as a manager and later with Spectrum Medical as a courier; he had a knack for making friends no matter the job at hand.He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was snowshoeing in the winter, camping or fishing in the summer, or simply taking his jeep out for mountain adventures. Harry also had quite the green thumb and loved spending time in his garden.Harry is survived by his children, daughter Kimberlee (Chad); sons Brian, Matthew, Alex and Daris; father Lewis Watkins; sisters Wendy (Rick), Natalie (Bob), and Sally (Herb); brother Larry; grandchildren Cadence, Bridger and Titan; along with numerous nieces and nephews.Harry was preceded in death by his mother Marlene Watkins.Harry was loved & respected by many within his family and the community and will be greatly missed.Dad, you fought the good fight, now its time to rest easy and enjoy the view!In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an organization of the donors choice.
