Harley Reinhold Wuest passed away on October 27, 2023, at Peace Hospice in Great Falls, Montana at the age of 83 years old. He was born on May 4, 1940, to Reinhold Jacob Wuest and Alvena Lorenz. He grew up in Savage, Montana. Harley graduated from Savage High School, where he was an all-around athlete. He helped around the family farm while he was growing up. His siblings were Wayne, Marlene, and Darlene. Harley served in the Army from May 1959 to December 1964.
He married Barbara Brese on September 29, 1963. They had two children, Wayne and Lorri. He worked for United Building Center (UBC) for many years, moving the family to help stores in Wolf Point, Deer Lodge, and back to Glendive, where he started with the company.
Harley was active in their church, volunteering with Barb wherever needed. He was an NRA supporter, wearing his NRA hat until almost the end. He also enjoyed singing, whistling, restoring old vehicles, reloading, hunting, spending time with family and friends, and a good game of cards with friends.
He was preceded in death by his mom and dad; brother, Wayne Wuest; sister, Darlene (Wuest)Pust; and wife, Barbara.
Harley is survived by sister, Marlene (Jim) Williams; son, Wayne (Kim) Wuest; daughter, Lorri (Conn) Forder; grandkids, Lilly Mindt, Sophia Mindt, Torri (Witt) Cease, Adam Wuest, and Amber Wuest; great-grandkids, Jackson, Tyler and Elizabeth; and many special nieces, nephews, and cousins, all precious to his heart.
Special thanks to Peace Hospice of Montana for the amazing care in his final days and Beehive assisted living where he has been living the last few years in Great Falls.
A service is being planned for May in eastern Montana.
