Harlan Harry Lartch, our beloved Dad, Papa, and friend, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the age 88. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1410 13th Str.S.. Harlan was born on October 30, 1929 in Black Earth, Wisconsin to Harry and Matie Lartch. He had 3 siblings, Velma, Margaret, and Harvey. Harlan was a talented basketball player while in high school. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Harlan married Alene Lois Jenkins on July 24, 1954, in Bozeman, Montana. They were married for 54 years until her passing in 2009. They had three children, Miles, Leslie and Morgan. Harlan was a traveling salesman for Colgate Palmolive for 30 years. He retired at the young age of 50. He was an avid horseshoe player, fisherman, and talented bowler. He continued to skillfully bowl after becoming legally blind. Harlan was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and wife Alene. He is survived by his three children, Miles (Jeanne) Lartch, Leslie (John) Mahan, and Morgan (Laura) Lartch; five grandchildren, Kristen Jourdonais Ritchie and Jaren Jourdonais Rabe (who will always be thankful and proud he was very involved in their upbringing), Austin Lartch, Jolene Lartch, and Kylie Mahan; and four great-grandchildren, Ava, Lincoln, Clara and Elsie. He will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Harlan’s name may be made to the Great Falls Rescue Mission, 326 2nd Ave. S., Great Falls, MT 59405.
