"An officer and gentleman" is how many people who knew Guy L. Robbins, III “Bud” would describe him. Bud was born in Mobridge, South Dakota on September 6, 1945 and passed away on July 22, 2018. He will be greatly missed by surviving family members and many others who were blessed enough to call Bud their friend. He grew up in Great Falls, Montana and graduated with honors in a double major (accounting and economics) from the University of Montana, Go Griz! Bud married Marian on December 23, 1967 shortly after he graduated from college in 1967. He worked as a real estate property manager, construction contractor, securities principal/investment banker, insurance agent broker-owner, and real estate broker owner prior to being hired by the Montana State Insurance Fund as an insurance underwriter and marketing director. In 1991, Bud joined the Bureau of Indian Affairs as a realty specialist, then became an economic development officer, escrow accounts coordinator, and realty officer. During his decades-long work with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Bud was responsible for drafting special deposit account policy statements for the Deputy Commissioner of the BIA, completing drafts of the BIA/Office of Special Trustee pre-implementation "Clean-up" project work plan, and synthesizing input of staff from the Offices of the Special Trustee Office of Trust Fund Management, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Bud also conducted site visits to the Rocky Mountain Regional Office and its seven agencies as a part of the High Level Implementation Plan 2000. He also gained the officer ranks of Sergeant, Second Lieutenant, First Lieutenant, Captain, Major, and Lieutenant Colonel with the National Guard. He truly enjoyed his work with the National Guard and applied the self-discipline gained in the military to all aspects of his life. As a son, father, grandfather and brother, Bud's devotion to his family was unmatched. He was a kind, gentle, and loving human being whose primary interest was his family and their well-being. Bud sought to help all people reach their maximum potentials. He was especially proud of his two daughters, Cara and Ginger, who he said were the light of his life. Bud was preceded in death by his father, Guy L. Robbins, II; mother Arlene McLaughlin Robbins; and sister Mimi Robbins McBride. He is survived by his two daughters, Cara (Mike) Murolo and Ginger (Jake) Carter; sisters Bonnie Jo Hunt and Rebecca Robbins; brother Kenneth Robbins; and grandchildren Lexi Burcham-Carter, Macee Murolo, Mikayla Murolo, Blake Carter; and Marian Robbins(Warren O’Keefe), friend and mother of his children.
