Gordon Church

Gordon John Church, 91, of Great Falls, MT, died Friday, December 16, 2011 of Alzheimers at a local nursing home.At his request no services will be held.Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Gordon was born on June 10, 1920 to Ernest and Ellyn (Sheldon) Church in Onamia, MN. He attended Marshall High School in Minneapolis, MN and on June 20, 1941 Gordon married Betty Fox and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage.He worked as a Production Manager at Coca Cola in Butte and was a City Councilman in Missoula where he also served on the park board.He was a loving father who enjoyed teaching his sons his own lifetime hobbies of hunting, fishing, and softball. Gordon was also inducted into the Montana Softball Hall of Fame.He is survived by his sons, Robert (JoAnne) Church of Great Falls, James (Stella) Church of Clinton, MT, Greg Church of Missoula, and six grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his wife on January 2, 1994 and his parents.
