Goldie Mae (Peters) Lovejoy passed away on July 9, 2017 at Benefis Hospital after a brief illness. She was 91.Per her request, no services are taking place. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Goldie was born on July 5, 1926 in Central City, Nebraska, and the second daughter for Ernest and Vivian Peters. She went through 9th grade in a small country school which in those days, it was more important to work on the farm than go to school.Goldie married Howard Cox and had one son, Bernard, in April 1947. She and Howard later divorced.Goldie decided in 1961 to come to Montana where she met Robert Bush. They were married in 1966 and later had a daughter, Valerie in February 1967. Bob later died of cancer in February of 1973. Goldie met Glen Lovejoy and they married in 1974. They moved to the Eidel Ranch where Glen was the foreman. She enjoyed being a ranchers wife. When it was branding season there always seemed to be a lot of extra help, due to the men enjoying Goldies cooking. Glen and Goldie lived on the ranch until Glen retired in 1986. At that time, they moved to Simms and did extensive traveling. They did everything together and always had a great time.Mom enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, baking and crocheting. Mom had a great sense of humor so when the discussion of her obituary came up, she said we could say she enjoyed bungee jumping and skydiving in her later years, just to see if anyone was paying attention.Goldie is survived by her husband, Glen; son Bernard (Janet) Cox and daughter Valerie (Jeff) Hoock; brothers Ken (Toni) Peters and Harold (Ruth) Peters; 5 grandchildren, Melanie Cox, Lisa (Frankie) Cox, Bill (Billie) Cox, Trevor Howard and Morgen (Travis) Howard; 4 great-grandchildren, but the light of her life was Coopar Shumate. Her eyes would light up when Coopar entered the room. They only had 3 years together but they were the best years to her.Goldie is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Vivian; sisters Delores Ziecheck and Irene Christiansen; and an infant daughter, Connie Cox.
