Gloria Derosa

Gloria Jean (Kaslo) DeRosa passed away of natural causes on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the age of 71 at Benifis Hospital.Gloria was born in Great Falls on July 11, 1945 to Warren and Pearl (Mick) Kaslo. She attended schools in Great Falls, graduating from Great Falls High in June 1963. Gloria and Michael DeRosa were married May 18, 1968 in Helena, MT after meeting on a blind date when Michael was stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base. Gloria and Mike were married for 49 wonderful years and were only apart for short periods of time, except for a 1 year assignment he had in Sicily.Michael and Gloria have one son, Anthony, born September 1, 1971 in Great Falls, MT. She worked at National Laundry till her son, Anthony was born then she became a stay at home mom for many years. When Anthony was older, she then worked at various other jobs. In March 1991, she started to work for the new Walmart store on Smelter Ave. She worked at Walmart for 21 years starting out as a cashier and moved up to the position of Customer Service Manager; she was still employed there on her passing.Gloria was well liked and loved by everyone, and she would never complain or brag about herself. In contrast she would talk of her grandchildren and how they brought her much joy, often bragging of their accomplishments and how proud she was of them and what they achieved. At work, she was always there for her co-workers putting them ahead of herself no matter how good or bad she felt. That was the same way she treated her husband, son and grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and her QVC.She was preceded in death by her parents.Gloria is survived by her husband of 49 years, Michael of Great Falls; son and daughter-in-law, Anthony and Jenessa DeRosa of Missoula; 5 grandchildren, Travis, Dominic, Alexander Zander, Addy and Reilly; great granddaughter Layla; sister Jackie Tiedemann; brother Larry (Sue) Kaslo; sister-in-law; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and her extended Walmart family.A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1410 13th Str.
