Gerald Francis Kommers

Gerald “Jerry” Kommers, 85, of Great Falls, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018. Jerry was born March 12, 1932 in Great Falls, Montana to Fred A. and Anna Marie Kommers. He graduated from Great Falls High School in 1950. Jerry went on to attend Edison Technical College in Seattle, WA.He worked as an electronics technician with the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) for 26 years. Jerry married Sally Moody on April 27, 1963 in Salt Lake City, UT. Together they had four children. He was a member of St. Ann’s Cathedral Parish, Elks Club and Loyal Order of the Moose. Jerry was a Ham radio operator, an avid gardener, and enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. Jerry is survived by his wife, Sally Kommers; daughters Deb (Wendell) Chibroski and Carol Kommers both of Great Falls, and Michele Kommers of Lovelock, NV; son Mark (Rose) Kommers of Great Falls; sister Charlene Kommers of Great Falls; and four grandchildren, Danielle, Brianne and Kristin Chibroski and Tyler Bennett. He was preceded in death by his parents. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. followed by the vigil service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 12, 2018 at St. Ann’s Cathedral. A funeral liturgy will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at St. Ann’s Cathedral, both with Father Jay Peterson presiding. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
