Gerald Duane "Smitty" Smith

Gerald Duane Smitty Smith, 65, of Black Eagle, passed away January 21, 2016.No services are being planned per his request. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.Smitty was born on July 26, 1950 in Devils Lake, North Dakota to Wilmar Smith and Phyllis Spitzer. He started work at Albys Quality Auto Glass, eventually working for Central Glass where he retired.He enjoyed visiting with everyone, eating good food, taking care of his car, gambling and drinking beer. He had many years of friendship with Samuel Blue Benton and Pat and Annie Hall.Smitty is survived by his brothers, Wilmar Smitty (Teresa) Smith of California and Roger (Betty) Smith of Great Falls; sisters Claudine (Booker) Reed of Las Vegas, NV and Dixie Halcro of Great Falls; and nieces and nephews, Nancy, Lois, Kimberly, Kurt, Angela, Rachel, Kassandra, Jeff, Mike, Lisa, Tammie, and David.He was preceded in death by his father, Wilmar; mother Phyllis, and stepfather Theodore.The family would like to give a special thank you to the New Direction Center.Smitty, you will be loved and missed by all your family and friends.
