Genett Micky Hixson, 84, of Great Falls passed away peacefully at home on February 6, 2017.Micky was born February 29, 1932 in Clarendon, Texas. She was one of eight girls and two boys in a large Texas family. Micky received her diploma from Amarillo High School. On July 5, 1952, she married Richard Hixson and embarked on the life of an Air Force wife.Dicks service took them to Biggs AFB in El Paso, Okinawa, Vandenberg AFB in California, and finally Malmstrom AFB. Micky found rewarding work in the Housewares department at J.C. Penney in Great Falls. She was employed there for seventeen years without ever missing a day. She loved her work, her co-workers, and her customers. Micky received numerous awards recognizing her ability to sign people up for credit accounts. Although only 4 11 tall, virtually no one was able to say no to Micky.Micky was also well known for her skill at baking, particularly cookies. No gathering was complete without a platter of them. She loved to bake them, but even more she loved to give them away. And she did - by the thousands.Micky was preceded in death by eight of her ten siblings.She is survived by her husband, Dick; children Richard of Bozeman, Patricia of Missoula, and Beverly of Missoula; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her sister Geneva.A private family memorial service will be held this spring.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Montana Chapter of The Alzheimers Association, 3010 11th Ave N, Billings, Montana 59101.
