Freeman Jesse Teague, 83, of Great Falls, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2015.Freeman PeeWee was born on May 31, 1932 to Bruce and Margaret Teague in Great Falls, Montana. He dropped out of school at the age of 16, and went to work for the Great Northern Railroad. He started out as a clerk, and then worked in the freight house, baggage, and yard house, being a Jack of all trades for the railroad. Eventually, he was a PIGL clerk and crew caller.In 1951-1955, he was in the US Navy, on crash boats at Whidbee Island, WA. He then attended Engineman School in San Diego, CA. He was on a destroyer in Korea in 1953. After being in a car wreck in the service, PeeWee was on a different destroyer.He returned to Great Falls following his service in the Navy, and after 27 years with the Great Northern RR, now the Burlington Northern RR, he went to Engineer school and has been one ever since. He retired from Amtrak after 15 years of service in 2002. After retirement, he worked as a flagman on various highway jobs.PeeWee is survived by his daughter, Stephanie; two grandchildren, Jesse and Morgan; and brothers William Willie of Great Falls and Elliott of Elko, NV; sister Clare of Great Falls; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Paulette; brothers Bruce, Mark, Thomas and Wesley; and sister Carol.He always said the he had a dream job that any little boy would like.A celebration of PeeWees life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at the Eagles Loge. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.
