Fred passed to the other side on June 16, 2016.He was born November 6, 1943 in Klamath Falls, Oregon and moved to San Jose, California at the age of three, where he was raised. He graduated from Lincoln High School and Montana State University, with stops in between at the University of Santa Clara, San Jose City College, and the University of Hawaii, playing basketball at each. He held a degree in business.Fred was in sales management with Procter & Gamble for a number of years, and went on to become Western Division Manager of retail products and Director of International Sales with the Bunge Corporation, living in Seattle.He married Toni Dvoracek and they had two amazing daughters. Together, they taught them the love for life and all that was included in it. They, in turn, bore four wonderful grandchildren, who later in life gave Fred his reason to keep on keeping on!All who knew him will miss his colorful stories, endless jokes, teasing, magic tricks, and sometimes strange sense of humor. Fred was proud of his military service. He was a Vietnam Vet (1964-1968), earning the rank of SSGT (E-5). He later joined the active Army reserve on Gore Hill for seven years.Survivors include his daughters, Heidi and Heather; brother Richard Hosley; grandchildren Alexa, Brenden, Ethan and Connor; many nieces and nephews; and a few special friends who know who they are.A few friends and family members preceded him on their journey, with whom he is now reconnecting.A military honors service is planned for the spreading of his ashes at Giant Springs on a beautiful summer day, when all can coordinate their activities. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home.
