Floyd Wilber Christensen, 91, of Great Falls, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Highgate Assisted Living of natural causes.Floyd was born on April 22, 1924 in Grass Range, Montana and was the son of Elmer and Edvie (Spoja) Christensen. He attended grade schools in Lewistown and Drummond and graduated from Great Falls High in 1942. He joined the Army in 1943 and served 22 months overseas participation in Normandy, France and in Germany during World War II as a Technical Mechanic. He returned to Great Falls and became a plumber working for Pinski Brothers for over 30 years. He married Barbara Maki in 1948. She preceded him in death on December 28, 1988.He had a love of riding motorcycles and owned one most of his life. He rode until his later 80s, and in his younger years he participated in various hill climbs. Floyd was a member of the Eagles, VFW, and the Great Falls Elks Club, where he played in the drum and bugle corps. He belonged to the Skunk Wagon Car Club and had restored a Model T Ford.He is survived by son Alan (Sandee) Christensen; daughter Gayle (Danny) Sweeney; brother Homer Christensen; sister Hazel Rafferty; grandchildren, Stacy (Louie) Hermiller, Robert Christensen, Joshua Sweeney and Jolyn (Levi) Johnson; and great grandchildren, Madison, Caroline and Nicholas Hermiller, and Joc Johnson.Private family services are planned.
