Florence Murphy

Florence Murphy, 88, of Great Falls, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.Florence was born on December 17, 1925 to Charlie and Verna Charlson. She grew up on a wheat ranch in Carter, the fourth of five children. She graduated from Great Falls High School in 1944. She married Frank Weldele. They had one son Gary Weldele. She later married H.T. Murphy on August 23, 1970.She worked on ranches and at the Blue Moon Restaurant and Bakery as a candy maker. She went to Margaret Hood Beauty School where she received her cosmetology license. She bought the Francis Beauty Salon on central where she was a hairdresser and owner for 30 years, as well as running a beauty school. She and her husband started a bed and breakfast in 1984.Florence was a member of various clubs; antique, flower growers, Rainbow Garden Clublocal and national president, Questers, Friendship Force, and Business and Professional Womens Club.She is survived by her husband, H.T. Murphy; granddaughter Christi (Jeremy) Virts; and great- grandchildren Abbie and Rylee.Florence was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Everett, Dwight, Forrest, and Eugene; and her son Gary.
