She grew up on the family homestead south of town and rode a horse to the one-room schoolhouse at the end of the road. She graduated from Wolf Point High School and later went to Volkmans Beauty School in Great Falls. After graduating from Beauty School, Flo owned and operated Florences Beauty Shop in Wolf Point, Montana. She met the love of her life, and husband of 66 years, at a dance in Presserville after the conclusion of World War II. She married John Howard Boysun on June 22, 1948 in Wolf Point. John and Flo lived for a time in Presserville and Wolf Point, eventually making Great Falls their home, where they raised their two sons, Gary and Randy.Flo worked as a beautician and also as a cashier in the cafeteria at Valley View School, and C.M. Russell High School and at the lunch counter at Malmstrom in Great Falls. Her family was very dear to her, so it was only natural that she found her true calling when her grandchildren were born. For this grandmother of seven, no wasn't a word in her vocabulary. She proudly admitted that she spoiled them rotten. She kept the candy drawer as full as her heart, and never passed up a chance to make someone feel good about themselves. Sunday dinners after church were a ritual, as her kids and grandkids would catch up on the week's happenings with their busy lives.Flo loved flowers of all kinds, and took great pride in tending to the petunias, geraniums and roses in their yard. She also enjoyed shopping, a good waltz and traveling. Many of those travels were around the region to listen to the polka band, The Mom and Dads. She was also known for her uncanny luck with keno both in Nevada and in Montana. She was a member of St. Anns Cathedral and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Lukes Catholic Church. Many a church bulletin was prepped and folded by her willing hands.Florence is survived by her husband; and sons, Gary (Helen) Boysun and Randy (Sue) Boysun both of Great Falls; seven grandchildren, Gina, Stephanie, Michael, Melissa, Christina, Carrie and Andrea; and seven great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Florence's name may be made to Peace Hospice, 1101 26th St. S., Great Falls, MT 59405 or St. Ann's Soup Kitchen, 715 3rd Ave. N., Great Falls, MT 59401.
