Fabian Chick Baron, 85, of Great Falls, a retired shop superintendant for the City of Great Falls died on Sunday, November 11, 2012 at his residence of natural causes.Visitation will be at Schnider Funeral Home on Thursday, November 15, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.His vigil service will be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.His funeral liturgy will also be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Friday, November 16, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery.Schnider Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Fabian Chick Baron was born May 15, 1927 to Jacob and Bridget Baron with two sisters, Mary Ellen McCallum, Rosalie Taylor, and two brothers, Albert and Edward who have since deceased.He met and married Betty Taras on May 3, 1952, and had 60 years of a happy life. With the help of friends and family they built their home from scratch and still reside there.Chick did a tour in Army Ordinance in Korea, worked 25 years as a mechanic for Bison Motors, and retired in 1992 from the City of Great Falls as Shop Superintendent for 23 years. He enjoyed putting on the Xmas parties and BBQ's for the City of Great Falls, V.F.W. and the Air National Guard. He traveled to many cultures such as Japan, China, Mexico, Yugoslavia, Hawaii, Alaska, Italy, Panama, Costa Rica, Canada, Venezuela, and the Caribbean.His was a generous and happy spirit, always available to help, loved his family and friends, hard working with a good sense of humor and lived with high standards. He appreciated all his good friends and neighbors He will be greatly missed by many.Survivors include his wife, Betty Baron of Great Falls; two children, Gary J. Baron and Kathleen M. Heitman, both of Great Falls; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Kevin Heitman Jr; and two great grandchildren, Kayla and Kyle Smith; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Credit to Delane Bibler, a niece, who wrote the obit for us.Donations may be given to Peace Hospice, 1101 26th St S, Great Falls, MT 59405.
