Everett, 76 of Great Falls, Montana passedpeacefullyin his sleepfromcomplicationsofCOPD and Congestive Heart Failure atMeadowlark Assisted Living on Monday, May 9, 2016.Visitation will be on Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Schnider Funeral Home. Everett will be crematedandhis ashes will be spread athis favorite fishing spotwith acelebration of his life ataprivate family gatheringon Fathers Day, June 19, 2016.Everett was bornat Saint PetersHospitalinHelena, Montana on September 12, 1939to Anthony and Elizabeth (Pratt) Whyte. He grew up in Helenanear Fort Harrisonwhere he and his cousin, Junior William Whyte, Jr. had many memorable adventures together. Everettworked at the saw mill in WhiteSulphurSprings, where he married Twyla Sibley onOctober 21, 1963.Theyraisedtwo sons and a daughter.In addition, he worked at the State Nursery, Green Meadow Golf Course,TheMontana Cluband Mountain Bell Telephone Company in Helena.He transferredwith theMountain BellCompany, relocating toGreat Falls. After retiring from Mountain Bell,hebriefly worked for the Columbus Hospital. Finally, hethenworked for the City of Great Fallsfor 20 years. Heretiredin 2003from the Great Falls Police Department.He was very proud of working with all the Police Officers and staff where he made lifetime friendships.Everett waspassionateabout his collection ofguns,stampsand coins.He also liked to hunt,fish, go metal detecting,meetwith his friends at Hardees,feedingthe squirrels at Gibson Park,andgoingto the thrift stores and garage sales to see what treasures he could find, mostly books. He also liked his word searchbooks and candy from the dollar store.He enjoyed watching football. His favorite teams were the Raiders,thePackersandthe49ers.He also was fond of his pets,BabeMare (childhood horse), and his dogs Heinz,Snurdand Bozo.We will all remember him for his numerous stories about his adventures fromhisyoungadult years.He is survived byhis former spouse,Twyla (Sibley) Whyte; sister Mary Elizabeth (Lewis) Croft; brotherArthur J. Whyte; sons Everett J. (Debbie) Whyte, Jr. and Michael J. (Tawny) Whyte;anddaughter Jodi Lynn (Garth) Gabriel; grandchildren Christopher,HyunSoo,andMikeyWhyte, CaitlynAakreandRobbert(Ashley)Reckerand CoreyRecker; great grandchildrenRoyalandSuriWhyte,Noah,KristofferandKailiRecker; andnumerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents,Anthony and Eliza; siblingsWilliam (Bill), Sally Ann and Betty Jean; and special cousin, Junior William Whyte, Jr.The family would like to thank theHospice nursing staff at the Benefis Hospital, the staff at Bluebird and Meadowlark Assisted Living.
