Eugene Woodrow Kallstrom was born on August 27, 1939, to Woodrow and Margaret (Sibell) Kallstrom. He passed away on April 24, 2021, of natural causes at the age of 81 years and 8 months. He was baptized and confirmed at Fahlen Lutheran Church in Nelson, Minnesota and attended country school through the sixth grade at #40 in Belle River Township. He attended Central High School in Alexandria, MN. He served his country in the US Army with the Engineer Battalion 554. He was honorably discharged after two years on August 15, 1963. After he was discharged from the service, he took a job at OK Feed Service in Conrad, MT and later with the County for 3 ½ years. He farmed for 19 years and also owned his own backhoe business for 11 years. Eugene was married to Ruth Gernaat and later divorce. He married his wife, Gayle in 1989 and moved to Great Falls. They were married for 32 happy years until his passing. He worked heavy equipment for Schumacher and United Materials. He went to work for MAFB in 1989 and worked there for 11 years. He worked on snow removal until his health forced him to retire in 2000. He enjoyed going out to have a good time. He loved to go dancing and visiting with people. He belonged to the Eagles Club and Redeemer Lutheran Church. He is survived by his wife, Gayle; son, Keith; daughters, Collette Stinar and Melissa Kallstrom; granddaughters, Melodee (Chad), Ruth Ann, Nicollette, and Danielle; five grandsons, Adam, Alex, Ty (Kelsie), Chanz, and Jesse; two great-granddaughters; seven step-grandchildren; siblings, Sue (Al) Debartoli and Raymond (Kim) Kallstrom; stepdaughters, Julie (Darryl) and Shelly (Jim); stepsons, Bob (Lana) and Leslie; several nieces, nephews, uncles, and cousins. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim and Jerry; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and Tom Serba; nephew, Christian Serba; and nephew-in-law, Steven Prill. A memorial service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Mask are required. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.
