Ettasue Stewart Ferris, 61, of Great Falls, a teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School, died of complications from pneumonia on Friday, December 28, 2012 at a local hospital.She fought a courageous three month battle against an extremely difficult and sudden onset illness.A funeral liturgy will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary'sCemetery in Missoula. Schnider Funeral Home is handlingarrangements.EttasueStewart was born November8,1951 in Butte to Floyd and Marjorie Stewart. She attended school in Butte, Eastern Montana College, the University of Montana, and was a graduate of the University of Great Falls. She married Rob Ferris inButte on May 27, 1972 and theywere blessed with three children. Her family was themost important thing in her life and she thoroughlyenjoyed the many road trips to visit her children and granddaughter. She was kind and gentle and was truly the heart ofour family.She was an avid Grizzly football fan who missed very few home games in Missoula. Ettasue had intense passion for teaching and a love of learning.She taught Kindergarten at West Elementary and Our Lady of Lourdes in Great Falls and at St. Josephs in Missoula.Ettasue issurvived by her husband Rob Ferrisof Great Falls; daughterJodi (Gianandrea) Borriello of Missoula; sons Chad (Erika) Ferris of Billings and Brad Ferris of Spokane, WA; father Floyd Stewartof Butte; a sister Frances(Ed) Holmes of Butte; a brother Jack (Sharon) Stewart of Butte; one granddaughter Kaitlin Ferris of Billings; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Stewart.Memorial donations may be made to Watson Children's Shelter, 4987 Buckhouse Lane, Missoula, MT 59804.
